Meeting Highlights

 

The following are highlights from our last business meeting. This is not meant to replace the official meeting minutes. The intent is to inform all of our members on our activities. Meeting Date: Wednesday, April 2, 2008 @ 7:00pm (Condensed meeting due to First Degree)

 

Applications for new membership:  N/A

 

New Reports and Actions:

 

  • Financial Secretary's Report: 166 0f 400 State Raffle tickets have been sold to date.  Tickets will be offered to parishioners after masses on 4/19 & 4/20.   
  • Grand Knight's Report:  Pancake Breakfast on April 20.                                           

                                               Clean-up of Joan Crumlich's yard was started and to continue early next week (4/7, 4/8)                                                                                            

                                               April 20 - 29: Peter Kraehenbuhl's brother & sister-n-law are out of town - Knights asked to visit Peter

                                               April 11: Adoration for the intention of Vocations by Knights.  April 13 is National Day for Vocations

                                                John DuBiel is requesting assistance with the clean-up of the Parish kitchen

                                                BBQ Pit - Construction to resume later in April.

        

  • Joe Rothengast was presented the award for Knight of the Month for April.  Joe was also recognized by Supreme as a "VIP" for his exemplary efforts in recruiting new members.
  • Public Policy Committee:  Bill Dougherty mentioned that the Committee meets next on 4/9/08 and all are invited to attend. 
  • Mike Fober (per J. Haag) requested help for the cost of oxygen to treat his pneumonia.  It costs $300/month and Mike currently has no health insurance.  Motion was made to donate $300 to Mike for this purpose.  The motion was seconded and approved.
  • There is a Blood Drive  scheduled at St. Luke's during the afternoon of Sunday, April 6.  
  • Terry Whalen remeinded members about the "Eat Out for Hunger" event is scheduled on April 29 at participating restaurants in the Raleigh area.  As much as twenty percent of the participating restaurants' profits on that day will be contributed to Catholic Parish Outreach.
  • Ignatian Retreat: Reminder that the retreat is scheduled for June 20 & 21 at Avila Retreat Center in Durham.  The retreat is being sponsored by our Council and the Journeymen of St. Luke's.

  • Next Meeting: Wednesday May 7, 2008.  Social starts at 6:00 p.m. featuring a K of C Insurance presentation and a roll-out of the Council's new web page.  Meeting will follow at 7:30 p.m.
